Week 2 Post

Why the world loved first photographs?

I think that the world loved the first photographs because it was something completely new and different. The ability to capture a moment in time instantly as apposed to having to hire someone to paint portraits saved time and money. It was the first detailed image of yourself, not what an artist perceived you to look like.

now we still love first photographs because it gives us insight into what people looked like at different period of times. Over the years it has also aided others in a look back at what things looked like and helped us add visual elements to our history.

Who were the first photographers? Anybody who inspired you? Why?

One of the first photographers is Julia Margaret Cameron(1815-1879). She specialized in Albumen Print photography. She is inspiring to me because she was a female photographer in a male dominant time. She also focused on photographing woman. I am a fan of artistic black and white portraits and i think shes displayed it in many different photos.

Here are a couple of her works
